K of C LogoText Box: FROM THE DESK OF THE GRAND KNIGHT   IMMACULATE CONCEPTION COUNCIL #11449  21-47 29TH STREET  Astoria, New York 11105      July 1, 2009    Dear Brother Knights and families,    It is time to start the new Columbian year, but I first must thank our Past Grand Knight for his hard work over the past three years. I thank him and his board who worked hard to ensure all our charitable endeavors were successful and always put his heart in every aspect of the council.  I want to thank all the officers and chairman who did a fine job. Working the parish breakfast, running events such as nite at the races and especially to Guillermo Morera and Mario Massa for their recruitment efforts helping us to attain star council award and this year our first state council’s circle of honor award.  I would also like to introduce this years officers, a team that promises great enthusiaism and leadership moving forward. We are blessed to have Msgr. Ferrarese as our Chaplain again. Msgr. Boccio as Chaplain emeritus. Our new Deputy Grand Knight Guillermo Morera, Financial Secretary Steve Wilhelm, Chancellor Mario Massa, Warden Kenneth Sciusco, Treasurer Vincent Falco, Recorder Robert Najdek, Advocate John Tonkin, Lecturer Dom Skorpanic, Trustees Michael Schmitt, Gary Wozinsky and Vincent Tabone, Guards Aldo Galante, Carlos Castro, Yvotot Gouin and Tom Fitzpatrick. Their experience will be valuable to me and our officers as we start a new Columbian year.  Please mark your calendars for this year’s installation of officers. This years’ installation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 immediately after the 5 pm mass.  In closing I would like to say that it is truly my honor and privilege to serve as your Grand Knight for the 2009-2010 Columbian year.
